Veterinary Examinations

Your pet will visit the vet many times over its lifetime. Our team of veterinary professionals is here to offer its expertise and the best possible care, whether you’re bringing your pet in for a checkup, a follow-up appointment or because of an injury or disease.

Why does my pet have to come in for annual checkups, even if it’s healthy?

Checkups allow our veterinarians to better detect and prevent health problems. Your pet could be suffering from an injury or health problem, but not be showing symptoms yet. During a checkup, your veterinarian will do a head-to-tail examination, and they will be able to note any anomalies or changes since the last visit that might have gone unnoticed. Routine exams also keep your pet up to date on its vaccinations and deworming, keeping disease and parasites at bay.

How soon should my pet have its first veterinary examination?

We recommend making a first appointment within the first week with your new pet. Your veterinarian will be able to do a complete exam during this first visit to ensure your pet is in perfect health. You can also get valuable advice on diet, deworming, vaccination, and training and behaviour for your pet. It’s the perfect time to ask any questions you might have as you welcome your new family member!
