Before welcoming a dog for boarding or daycare, we require a half-day integration. This allows us to assess their behavior while giving them a chance to adapt to the environment and the people who will take care of them.

How is GymDog different from traditional boarding?

At GymDog, dogs are not kept isolated in kennels. They enjoy the freedom to move around and interact with other canine companions under constant supervision. The only times they are separated are during meals or, if necessary, to respect each dog’s tolerance. This approach promotes their mental and physical balance while reducing the stress related to separation.

What does the integration process involve?

Before welcoming a dog, we conduct an integration session to assess their behavior and help them get used to the environment and the team that will care for them. We specifically observe:

• The reaction to interactions with other dogs and humans, without direct contact at first, to create a safety zone for the dog being introduced to the group (reactivity, predation, anxiety, stress, fear, etc.).
• Any signs of resource guarding, such as toys or food, in the presence of other dogs.
• The time it takes to adapt to the new environment: does the dog stay alone in a corner or move around freely? Do they eat or are they too stressed to eat?

What are the health requirements for GymDog?

For the safety and health of all, dogs must:

• Be up to date on their vaccinations (core, rabies, and Bordetella).
• Be protected against internal and external parasites (fleas, ticks, intestinal worms). Examples of accepted products: Nexgard Spectra, Simparica Trio, Bravecto + Interceptor, etc.

Can I register my dog at GymDog without a half-day integration?

If your dog is already accustomed to attending a kennel and is comfortable there, it may be possible to start with a full first day. However, our team evaluates each situation to ensure the best possible experience.
